Liquid lenses for CT MAX cameras
Focusing is electrical: the optical power of the liquid element changes on command from the camera, with no moving mechanical parts. 1.1″ format, C-mount, 0.1 m minimum object distance, fixed iris. Power and control run over a four-wire lead (DC, GND, Lens_TX, Lens_RX) from the CT MAX camera.

How to choose
The refocusing range is set by the camera, not the lens: the liquid element shifts focus between the 0.1 m minimum object distance and infinity. Focal length is chosen as for any fixed-focal lens — from working distance and field width; a 1.1″ sensor is 14.1 mm wide, so a 200 mm field at 300 mm needs ≈ 21 mm. Check the FOV table in the datasheet for exact figures.

FAQ
What optical property changes when a CT MAX liquid lens refocuses?
The CT MAX camera commands a change in the optical power of the liquid element. Focusing is electrical and uses no moving mechanical parts. The camera sets the refocusing span between the 0.1 m minimum object distance and infinity.
How should focal length be chosen for the required field?
Base focal length on working distance and field width. For the stated 14.1 mm-wide 1.1″ sensor, the example says that a 200 mm field at 300 mm needs approximately 21 mm. The datasheet FOV table is the final reference for exact figures.
How do the three listed Q304 liquid-lens versions differ?
MVL-KF1650-Q304 is listed at 16 mm and F5.0, MVL-KF2553-Q304 at 25 mm and F5.3, and MVL-KF3562-Q304 at 35 mm and F6.2. All three retain the Ø17.6 mm (1.1″) format, C-mount and fixed-iris arrangement.
What wiring is used for liquid-lens power and control?
A four-wire lead runs from the CT MAX camera to the lens. Its listed connections are DC, GND, Lens_TX and Lens_RX. This lead carries both power and control, so its connection belongs in the optical setup check.
Does electrical refocusing remove the focal-length decision?
No. The liquid element moves focus from the 0.1 m minimum object distance toward infinity, but focal length is still chosen from field width and working distance. The available fixed focal lengths are 16 mm, 25 mm and 35 mm.
