Modes and range position

Single-DOE speckle structured light combines a 1500 mm depth range with 1408 × 1024 depth output and 1536 × 1280 RGB output. The S configuration reaches 30 fps for singulation, while the V configuration runs at 6 fps for volume measurement. This split makes MV-DB500S a mid-range RGB-D platform for either moving-object separation or slower dimensional acquisition.

At the 500 mm working distance, the near viewing area is 580 × 470 mm; the far area reaches 2500 × 1800 mm for S and 2400 × 1800 mm for V. The S depth accuracy is stated as 4 mm at 1 m and 8 mm at 2 m. Gigabit Ethernet, three opto-isolated inputs, three outputs and 12 to 24 V DC power provide the data, trigger and supply path for an automated station.

MV-DB500S sits between MV-DB700S-C V3.0 and MV-DB1300A by range. Pick MV-DB700S-C V3.0 when a 300 mm clearance and 700 mm measurement range cover the scene, with Z accuracy of 2.5 mm at 0.5 m. Pick MV-DB1300A when the station needs a 2100 mm range, a 2000 × 1600 mm typical viewing area at 2100 mm, or its higher 3072 × 2048 RGB resolution.

Overview

An RGB-D camera: it delivers a colour image and a depth map at the same time. In logistics it measures parcel dimensions, finds the parcel on the belt and splits a bulk flow into single items.

It works with the HiViewer application, and an SDK is available for custom development.

Selection and applications

Singulation depth capture at 30 fps. Volume measurement at 6 fps. RGB-D measurement across 1500 mm.

Minimum kit: The minimum imaging kit is MV-DB500S with its structured-light optics, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, a 12-pin M12 power/I/O cable, a 12 to 24 V DC supply and a supported Windows host.

Nearby in the range: MV-DB700S-C V3.0 — Select it for a shorter 700 mm measurement range and 300 mm clearance; MV-DB1300A — Select it when the measurement range must extend to 2100 mm.

FAQ

How do the S and V operating configurations differ in speed?

The S configuration is specified at 30 fps in singulation mode. The V configuration is specified at 6 fps in volume-measurement mode, so mode choice changes the available acquisition rate.

What image sizes and frame rates come from MV-DB500S?

The common resolution statement gives 1408 × 1024 depth and 1536 × 1280 RGB, both at 30 fps. A separate C entry gives 1408 × 1024 depth and 1526 × 1280 RGB, so the exact configuration must be kept with its stated raster.

How does depth accuracy change with measurement distance?

For the S configuration, Z accuracy is 4 mm at 1 m and 8 mm at 2 m. For the V configuration, X, Y and Z are stated at 5 mm at 1 m and 10 mm at 2 m, respectively.

What cabling and supply are required for the DB500S family?

Image data uses Gigabit Ethernet. A 12-pin M12 connector carries power and I/O, with three opto-isolated inputs and three outputs. The supply range is 12 to 24 V DC.

What enclosure and temperature limits apply to MV-DB500S?

The camera carries IP65 ingress protection and works from 0 to 45 °C. Its storage range is -30 to 80 °C, while stated humidity is 20 to 85% RH without condensation.

Which object sizes are covered at the stated installation heights?

At 700 mm installation height, the object range is 50 × 50 × 10 to 450 × 450 × 200 mm. At 1800 mm installation height, it expands from 100 × 100 × 10 to 1000 × 1000 × 700 mm.
