Color capture and network position

Large 9 µm pixels and color output define the imaging profile of MV-CA017-10GC. The 1.1-inch Sony IMX432 CMOS sensor delivers 1608 × 1104 images through Gigabit Ethernet at up to 68.5 fps. A global shutter, 72.44 dB dynamic range and exposure settings from 1 µs to 10 sec cover fast acquisition as well as controlled stationary scenes.

At 68.5 fps, the global shutter supports color checks on parts moving through indexed stations or conveyors while preserving their shape within each frame. PoE permits power and image data on the Ethernet connection, while a 12 V DC input remains available. The C-mount, 6-pin Hirose I/O and one opto-isolated input provide a basis for triggered capture.

MV-CA017-10GM shares the IMX432, 1608 × 1104 resolution and 68.5 fps rate, but lists lower typical consumption of 4.2 W against 4.8 W for MV-CA017-10GC. MV-CA020-10GC V3.0 offers color at 1624 × 1240 with smaller 4.5 µm pixels and 60 fps. MV-CA020-10UC V2.0 moves color acquisition to USB 3.0 and 89.1 fps; choose MV-CA017-10GC for the 1.1-inch sensor, 9 µm pixels and PoE network connection.

Selection and applications

Color inspection of moving parts at 68.5 fps. Triggered capture through opto-isolated I/O. PoE-connected imaging at 1608 × 1104.

Minimum kit: The minimum imaging kit is MV-CA017-10GC, a C-mount lens, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, and a PoE source or 12 V DC supply.

Nearby in the range: MV-CA017-10GM — Prefer it when the same 1608 × 1104 IMX432 platform is needed with typical consumption of 4.2 W; MV-CA020-10GC V3.0 — Prefer it for 1624 × 1240 color output with 4.5 µm pixels at 60 fps; MV-CA020-10UC V2.0 — Prefer it for 1624 × 1240 color capture over USB 3.0 at up to 89.1 fps.

FAQ

How does MV-CA017-10GC handle moving subjects in color applications?

Its Sony IMX432 CMOS sensor uses a global shutter and produces color images at up to 68.5 fps at 1608 × 1104. These properties support repeated color capture of moving parts while exposing the complete frame at the same instant.

Can the Ethernet connection carry both image data and camera power?

Yes. The camera supports PoE over its Gigabit Ethernet interface and is also compatible with Fast Ethernet. A separate 12 V DC supply can be used instead, and typical consumption is listed as 4.8 W at 12 V DC.

What does the 1.1-inch sensor format mean for lens selection?

MV-CA017-10GC uses a 1.1-inch sensor with 9 µm × 9 µm pixels and a C-mount. The selected C-mount lens needs an image circle that covers the 1.1-inch format; focal length then follows the required scene width and working distance.

Which exposure range is available for motion and stationary capture?

UltraShort mode spans 1 µs to 5 µs, and standard mode spans 6 µs to 10 sec. The short end supports narrow capture windows for moving objects, while the longer settings allow integration when object motion is absent or controlled.

How can a trigger or external output be wired to MV-CA017-10GC?

A 6-pin Hirose connector provides one opto-isolated input on Line 0, one opto-isolated output on Line 1 and one bidirectional non-isolated I/O on Line 2. These lines support external capture timing and synchronized output control.
