Monochrome USB positioning at 12.3 MP

Monochrome 12.3 MP acquisition at 30.3 fps defines MV-CH120-11UM. The USB 3.0 camera combines a 1.1-inch Sony IMX304 sensor, 3.45 µm pixels and a global shutter with 4096 × 3000 Mono 8 output. It supports detailed dimensional, edge and surface inspection in a station where the camera connects directly through USB.

The global shutter captures the complete image at the same instant, supporting geometry checks on moving parts. UltraShort exposure extends from 1 µs to 14 µs, while standard exposure covers 15 µs to 10 sec. USB power and a 9 V DC to 24 V DC input are both available, and P7 supplies isolated trigger input and output.

MV-CH120-11UC records color at the same 4096 × 3000 resolution and 30.3 fps. MV-CH120-10UM uses the same IMX304 class and USB 3.0 but reaches 30.5 fps in monochrome. MV-CH120-10CM changes to IMX253 and Camera Link, delivering 50.9 fps at full width. Select MV-CH120-11UM for IMX304 monochrome detail at 30.3 fps through USB 3.0.

Selection and applications

Monochrome dimensional inspection at 30.3 fps. Detailed USB surface-contrast analysis. Triggered edge checks on moving parts.

Minimum kit: MV-CH120-11UM, a 1.1-inch C-mount lens, a USB 3.0 cable, and either USB bus power or a 9 V DC to 24 V DC supply form the minimum imaging set.

Nearby in the range: MV-CH120-11UC — Choose it when color is required at the same 4096 × 3000 resolution and 30.3 fps; MV-CH120-10UM — Choose it for 4096 × 3000 IMX304 monochrome output at 30.5 fps over USB 3.0; MV-CH120-10CM — Choose it for 4096 × 3000 IMX253 monochrome output at 50.9 fps over Camera Link.

FAQ

What output does MV-CH120-11UM provide at 30.3 fps?

The camera produces 4096 × 3000 Mono 8 at up to 30.3 fps. Its IMX304 is a 1.1-inch global-shutter sensor with 3.45 µm pixels, suited to intensity and geometry analysis.

How is power supplied in a USB-based installation?

USB power is supported, with typical consumption of 4.67 W at 5 V DC from USB 3.0. The camera can also use a separate 9 V DC to 24 V DC source through its machine wiring.

What lens coverage is needed for the 4096 × 3000 frame?

Use a C-mount lens covering the 1.1-inch sensor and resolving 3.45 µm pixels across 4096 × 3000. The optical magnification should suit the target area and the smallest feature under inspection.

Which exposure range applies to rapid monochrome capture?

UltraShort mode begins at 1 µs and ends at 14 µs; standard mode spans 15 µs to 10 sec. Combined with the global shutter, these settings cover moving targets and longer static integration.

How are external trigger and output signals connected?

The 6-pin P7 connector includes one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output and one bidirectional non-isolated I/O line. These signals connect object detection and illumination timing to acquisition.
