Four-channel acquisition role

Four DIN 1.0/2.3 camera inputs place MV-GX1004 in multi-camera CXP-6 acquisition. Link rates from 1.25 through 6.25 Gbit/s are accepted on each connection, and 4 GB of DDR3-RAM buffers the incoming data. The board transfers through PCI-E gen2 × 8 at 3900 MB/s maximum and 3350 MB/s sustained bandwidth, with Mono and Bayer depths up to 16 bits plus RGB 8.

A four-view inspection cell can route its coaxial camera feeds to one host board and use the available opto-isolated, RX422, TX422 or TTL connections for machine timing. Eleven additional lines support configurable single-ended or differential I/O and frame-grabber cascading. Each CXP channel can provide as much as 13 W at 24 V DC over PoCXP, keeping eligible camera power on the same cable as acquisition data.

MV-GX1004 is the four-port counterpart to MV-GX1002: sustained bandwidth remains 3350 MB/s, while camera count and DDR3 memory double from two and 2 GB to four and 4 GB. MV-GX1104 preserves four CXP-6 ports and 4 GB but uses DDR4 and PCI-E gen3 × 4, with fewer enumerated I/O groups. For twice the host bandwidth and eight inputs, MV-GX1008 provides 6700 MB/s sustained transfer over PCI-E gen3 × 8.

Selection and applications

Four-view CXP-6 inspection. Buffered multi-camera acquisition. Isolated event-controlled capture.

Minimum kit: Fit MV-GX1004 to a PCI-E gen2 × 8 host, connect up to four CXP-6 cameras with DIN 1.0/2.3 coaxial cables, and use PoCXP within 13 W at 24 V DC on each channel.

Nearby in the range: MV-GX1002 — Prefer it when two CXP-6 ports and a 2 GB buffer cover the system; MV-GX1104 — Prefer it for four CXP-6 inputs on PCI-E gen3 × 4 with DDR4 memory; MV-GX1008 — Prefer it for eight inputs and 6700 MB/s sustained transfer.

FAQ

How many CXP-6 cameras can MV-GX1004 connect at once?

The board has four DIN 1.0/2.3 camera interfaces and supports as many as four cameras. Each link can operate at 1.25, 2.5, 3.125, 5 or 6.25 Gbit/s, allowing the four ports to be configured around the attached CXP-6 devices.

What transfer bandwidth is stated for the MV-GX1004 host path?

Its PCI-E gen2 × 8 connection is rated at 3900 MB/s maximum transmission bandwidth and 3350 MB/s sustained transmission bandwidth. The frame grabber also carries 4 GB of DDR3-RAM for buffering the four incoming links.

How much PoCXP power can MV-GX1004 provide per channel?

Every camera channel can provide up to 13 W at 24 V DC through PoCXP. The allowance is per channel, so each attached camera must fit that limit. Typical frame-grabber consumption without the PoCXP load is 14.4 W.

Does MV-GX1004 expose isolated and differential machine I/O?

Yes. The listed connections include opto-isolated inputs and outputs, RX422 inputs, TX422 outputs, TTL inputs and TTL outputs. Eleven configurable lines additionally support single-ended or differential signaling and cascading.

Which host platforms and acquisition tools support MV-GX1004?

Support covers Windows 7/10/11 and Ubuntu 16.04 through 20.04 on Linux. The software entries identify MVS as the client and an SDK for secondary development, covering configuration and custom host integration.

When should MV-GX1004 be selected instead of MV-GX1008?

Select MV-GX1004 for as many as four CXP-6 cameras on PCI-E gen2 × 8 with 3350 MB/s sustained transfer. MV-GX1008 is the eight-camera, PCI-E gen3 × 8 option and raises sustained bandwidth to 6700 MB/s.
