High-rate color imaging over 10 Gigabit Ethernet

Fast color acquisition over a network link is the central capability of MV-CH050-90TC-C-NF. A Gpixel GMAX3405 global-shutter CMOS sensor outputs 2448 × 2048 Bayer GB 8 at 163.4 fps through 10 Gigabit Ethernet. The 2/3-inch format, 3.4 µm pixels and C-mount support high-rate inspection where color and object geometry must be retained together.

The 2 µs minimum exposure and global shutter suit moving print, packaging and color-coded parts when the lighting supports short integration. The interface runs at 10000 Mbit/s and is compatible with 1000 Mbit/s Gigabit Ethernet. External timing enters through a 6-pin P7 connection with isolated input and output and one bidirectional line.

MV-CH050-90TM-C-NF uses the same GMAX3405, 163.4 fps and 10 Gigabit Ethernet path but outputs monochrome images. MV-CH050-90Y1C-NN is a close color alternative at 164 fps over CoaXPress with Micro-BNC. MV-CH050-60UC lowers color speed to 79 fps and uses USB 3.0. This model fits a 10 Gigabit Ethernet color architecture at 163.4 fps.

FAQ

What host-side link is needed for the 163.4 fps color stream?

The camera transmits through 10 Gigabit Ethernet at 10000 Mbit/s and is compatible with 1000 Mbit/s Gigabit Ethernet. The maximum output is 163.4 fps at 2448 × 2048 Bayer GB 8, so link planning should follow that full stream.

How short can exposure be when imaging fast moving targets?

Exposure can be set from 2 µs to 10 sec. The GMAX3405 uses a global shutter, so all rows share the exposure interval; the short end can reduce motion blur when the illumination delivers enough signal.

Does MV-CH050-90TC-C-NF support power over Ethernet?

The camera is powered from 9 V DC to 24 V DC, with typical consumption of 8.4 W at 12 V DC. The 6-pin P7 connector carries power and also provides one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output and one bidirectional non-isolated I/O line.

What lens should be paired with the GMAX3405 color sensor?

Use a C-mount lens covering the 2/3-inch format. Its image quality should support 3.4 µm pixels over 2448 × 2048, and its focal length should map the required object area onto that sensor.

How is heat handled in this high-data-rate camera body?

The camera is specified with a fan and has typical consumption of 8.4 W at 12 V DC. Operation is permitted from 0 °C to 50 °C, so mounting should leave the fan and body able to exchange heat within that range.
