CoaXPress speed, color and alternatives

A 2592 × 2160 color frame at 213 fps places MV-CH050-90XC-C-NN at the fast end of the 5 MP group. Its Gpixel GMAX2505 is a 1/2-inch global-shutter CMOS sensor with 2.5 µm pixels. CoaXPress with a DIN interface carries the Bayer BG 8 stream, supporting rapid color and geometry analysis through a compact C-mount optical path.

The 5 µs minimum exposure and global shutter address moving print, labels and color-coded parts where row skew cannot be accepted. A 12-pin P10 connector provides isolated input and output, a bidirectional I/O line and RS-232 for machine integration. Power can arrive at 9 V DC to 24 V DC, or through PoCXP on CXP-1.

MV-CH050-90Y1C-NN changes to the 2/3-inch GMAX3405, Micro-BNC connection and 164 fps at 2448 × 2048. MV-CH050-90TC-C-NF offers a similar 2448 × 2048 color image at 163.4 fps over 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Select MV-CH050-90XC-C-NN when the 2592 × 2160 frame, 213 fps rate and DIN CoaXPress connection are required together.

Selection and applications

Color inspection of fast moving print. High-rate geometry checks at 213 fps. Triggered sorting of color-coded parts.

Minimum kit: MV-CH050-90XC-C-NN, a 1/2-inch C-mount lens, a DIN CoaXPress cable, and either PoCXP on CXP-1 or a 9 V DC to 24 V DC supply form the minimum imaging set.

Nearby in the range: MV-CH050-90Y1C-NN — Choose it for a 2/3-inch GMAX3405 and 164 fps through Micro-BNC CoaXPress; MV-CH050-90TC-C-NF — Choose it for 163.4 fps color acquisition over 10 Gigabit Ethernet.

FAQ

What frame rate is available through the DIN CoaXPress interface?

The listed maximum is 213 fps at 2592 × 2160 in Bayer BG 8. Image transfer uses CoaXPress with a DIN interface, so both the cable and receiving equipment must match that connector and image stream.

Can MV-CH050-90XC-C-NN be powered through CoaXPress?

Yes. CXP-1 supports PoCXP, allowing power through the CoaXPress path. The camera can alternatively accept 9 V DC to 24 V DC through its power and I/O connection; typical consumption is 4.8 W at 12 V DC.

Which machine signals are exposed on the P10 connector?

The 12-pin P10 connection includes one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output, one bidirectional non-isolated I/O line and one RS-232 channel. These connections support trigger and peripheral coordination.

What lens format matches the GMAX2505 in this camera?

A C-mount lens must cover the 1/2-inch sensor and resolve its 2.5 µm pixels across 2592 × 2160. Because the sensor format differs from the 2/3-inch GMAX3405 variants, optical coverage should be selected for this model.

Does the 213 fps camera use a fan or external heat sink?

Cooling is listed as without a fan or heat sink. The camera consumes a typical 4.8 W at 12 V DC and operates from 0 °C to 50 °C, so the mechanical installation should keep the body within that specified range.
