Monochrome CoaXPress tasks and neighbors

A 164 fps monochrome stream through Micro-BNC CoaXPress defines MV-CH050-90Y1M-NN. Its Gpixel GMAX3405 global-shutter sensor delivers 2448 × 2048 Mono 8 with 3.4 µm pixels on a 2/3-inch format. This operating point addresses rapid edge, registration and surface checks that depend on intensity detail rather than color.

The exposure interval begins at 2 µs and reaches 10 sec, allowing motion freeze under sufficient light as well as longer static capture. PoCXP supports a single coaxial path for image data and power, with 9 V DC to 24 V DC available separately. Trigger and light coordination can use the isolated input, isolated output and bidirectional line on P7.

MV-CH050-90Y1C-NN adds color while retaining 164 fps, GMAX3405 and Micro-BNC CoaXPress. MV-CH050-90TM-C-NF moves the same monochrome resolution to 10 Gigabit Ethernet at 163.4 fps. MV-CH050-60NM provides a lower-rate 60 fps monochrome option over 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet with PoE. Choose this camera for the 164 fps monochrome CoaXPress path.

Selection and applications

High-rate monochrome edge measurement. Fast contrast-based surface inspection. Triggered registration checks over CoaXPress.

Minimum kit: MV-CH050-90Y1M-NN, a 2/3-inch C-mount lens, a Micro-BNC CoaXPress cable, and either PoCXP or a 9 V DC to 24 V DC supply form the minimum imaging set.

Nearby in the range: MV-CH050-90Y1C-NN — Select it when color is needed at the same 164 fps and resolution; MV-CH050-90TM-C-NF — Select it for 163.4 fps monochrome output over 10 Gigabit Ethernet; MV-CH050-60NM — Select it for 60 fps monochrome output over 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet with PoE.

FAQ

What does the monochrome output provide at the full frame rate?

The camera outputs 2448 × 2048 Mono 8 at up to 164 fps. This format carries intensity information without a Bayer color pattern, matching fast edge, position and contrast-based defect analysis.

How is the CoaXPress cable connected at the camera end?

MV-CH050-90Y1M-NN uses a Micro-BNC CoaXPress interface. The selected coaxial cable must therefore have the matching camera-side connector and connect to a receiving CoaXPress path.

Is a separate power supply mandatory for this camera?

No. PoCXP is supported, so a suitable CoaXPress source can power the camera through the data cable. Separate input from 9 V DC to 24 V DC remains available, with typical consumption of 3.3 W at 12 V DC.

How should a C-mount lens be specified for this model?

The lens must cover the 2/3-inch sensor and resolve the 3.4 µm pitch over 2448 × 2048. The C-mount defines the mechanical connection; scene size and working distance determine focal length.

What environment can the fanless camera operate within?

The camera is listed without a fan or heat sink and operates from -10 °C to 50 °C. Humidity may be 20% to 95% RH without condensation, and IP40 applies after correct lens installation and wiring.
