High-resolution color with global exposure

A 2600 × 2160 Bayer BG 8 image and global shutter separate MV-CU050-90GC from the rolling-shutter 5 MP color model. Its 1/2-inch GMAX2505 CMOS sensor uses 2.5 µm pixels and reaches 21 fps through Gigabit Ethernet. Exposure begins at 3 µs and extends to 10 sec, with 63.8 dB dynamic range and 0–12 dB gain.

The camera fits color label, assembly-state and fine-feature checks on moving parts when 21 fps covers the process cadence. Global exposure preserves geometry, and the 3 µs lower setting supports blur reduction under sufficient illumination. Optional PoE can share the network route with power; the P7 connector adds isolated input and output plus one bidirectional non-isolated I/O.

MV-CU050-90GM retains the GMAX2505, 2600 × 2160 grid and 21 fps but changes to Mono 8. MV-CU050-90UC keeps color and resolution while moving to USB 3.0 at 59.8 fps in a 35.6 mm-deep body. MV-CU050-30GC uses a 2592 × 1944 rolling-shutter AR0521 and runs at 24 fps. Choose 90GC when high-resolution color, simultaneous exposure and GigE outweigh the need for the faster USB rate.

Selection and applications

High-resolution color label checks. Global-shutter assembly inspection. Fine-feature GigE imaging.

Minimum kit: Use a C-mount lens covering the 1/2-inch GMAX2505, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, and either optional PoE or an external 9–24 V DC source.

Nearby in the range: MV-CU050-90GM — Select it for Mono 8 with the same GMAX2505, resolution and 21 fps; MV-CU050-90UC — Select it for 2600 × 2160 color at 59.8 fps through USB 3.0; MV-CU050-30GC — Select it for 2592 × 1944 color from an AR0521 at 24 fps.

FAQ

How does MV-CU050-90GC capture fine color detail in motion?

The GMAX2505 provides 2600 × 2160 Bayer BG 8 frames with a global shutter at up to 21 fps. Its 2.5 µm pixels supply the spatial sampling, and exposure can be reduced to 3 µs with adequate lighting.

What lens format covers the 5.6 MP GMAX2505 sensor?

A C-mount lens must cover the camera's 1/2-inch sensor and resolve the needed object detail across 2600 × 2160. Pixel pitch is 2.5 µm, which should be considered together with scene coverage and magnification.

Can the network cable power MV-CU050-90GC directly by PoE?

PoE is optional, and a 9–24 V DC external input is also available. Typical consumption is 2.5 W at 12 V DC. Image data uses Gigabit Ethernet with Fast Ethernet support.

Which timing signals does the high-resolution color model expose?

The 6-pin P7 connector provides one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output and one bidirectional non-isolated I/O. These discrete channels connect acquisition timing and status to the machine controller.

What body size and ambient conditions apply to 90GC?

The housing measures 29 mm × 29 mm × 47.6 mm, weighs about 117 g and is IP30 with correct lens installation and wiring. Operation is specified over 0–50 °C and 20–95% RH without condensation.
